PC (polycarbonate) print temperature and settings

Very strong and heat-resistant, and one of the most demanding filaments to print: high temperatures, an enclosure and dry filament.

Across the 7 PC (polycarbonate) lines we track, the median recommended range is 265–280 °C at the nozzle and 100–115 °C on the bed. Bambu Lab starts lowest (250 °C) and Tectonic 3D goes highest (300 °C).

Good for

  • high-strength, high-temperature parts
  • parts that must stay stiff when warm

Watch out for

  • Needs a hot nozzle, hot bed and a warm enclosure
  • Absorbs moisture quickly

Frequently asked questions

What temperature should I print PC (polycarbonate) at?

Most brands recommend about 265–280 °C at the nozzle and 100–115 °C on the bed (median of 7 brands). Use your brand's own range when you have it.

Do I need an enclosure for PC (polycarbonate)?

Yes. PC (polycarbonate) warps and cracks in drafts; an enclosed, warm printer gives far better results.

Does PC (polycarbonate) need a hardened nozzle?

No. A standard brass nozzle is fine.
